We encourage communities across the country to learn more about: access to essential services, education, health, justice, inclusion and equality
Published: Jul 26, 2024 Reading time: 2 minutesThe awareness campaign - Human Rights Caravan, with the tagline "Your rights are our priority" was organized by the Office of the People's Advocate, with the support of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) between July 2-22, in the cities of Cahul, Ungheni and Drochia.
Within the event, several entities participated, such as Local Public Authorities (LPA), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), as well as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), whose mission is to get involved in the promotion and protection of human rights throughout the country. This event increases both, social and institutional cohesion, strengthens collaborations between different international organizations, civil society organizations and local communities.
Thus, on July 2nd, our partners from NGO "MOTIVAȚIE" participated in the Human Rights Caravan in Cahul, on July 17 in Ungheni, and on July 21-22 in Drochia, where they managed to interact with dozens of visitors, eager to find out the role of the organization, but also the benefits it offers to people with physical disabilities from Republic of Moldova. The team organized information and recreation activities with children and adults, hand-made jewelry making master classes, focus groups and also distributed informative materials of the organization in the field of the rights of people with disabilities.
Through discussions with local residents on topics such as: the right to compensated medicines, the right to free medical consultations and information about existing social services, the visitors had the opportunity to share, in turn, the challenges they face in the fields of health, justice, education and social inclusion.
Thanks to the joint efforts of communication and interaction with the civil society of NGO "MOTIVAȚIE" and People in Need Moldova, the inhabitants of different regions of the country were informed about the access to essential services - Education, Health, Justice, Inclusion and Equality.
The project is financed by People in Need Moldova within the grant program for NGOs in the Republic of Moldova from #SOSUkraine resources, donations from the Czech people. The aim of the project is to promote social protection measures for the socio-economic inclusion of people with disabilities in the context of the war in Ukraine. The project will cover the districts: Criuleni, Chișinău, Hîncești, Căuşeni, Ștefan – Vodă, Cahul, Ungheni and Drochia.
