The project is implemented by People in Need Moldova and financed by the Czech Development Agency. Its main objective is to modernise educational infrastructure and strengthen the practical training of veterinary medicine students.

As part of the project, the institution was equipped with a substantial set of modern IT and veterinary equipment, including computers, interactive boards, a mobile anaesthesia unit, a fibrogastroscope, an ultrasound machine, blood analysis equipment, an electronic microscope, laboratory furniture, electric power generators, and other essential tools. The total value of the equipment amounts to approximately two million Moldovan lei.

“The Czech Government, through the project implemented by People in Need, has invested over EUR 100,000 in our institution, contributing to the development of the technical, material, and educational base necessary for the high-quality training of future specialists, who will later be able to integrate more easily into the labour market,” stated Ghenadie Frecăuțanu, Director of the College.

On the occasion of the project’s completion, the College was visited by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Jaromír Plíšek, who familiarised himself with the new study conditions and held discussions with the institution’s management, teaching staff, and students.

“This project represents an important step in supporting education and research in the field of veterinary medicine and in promoting the modernisation of the dairy industry. We are proud to contribute to the development of this sector, which is important for the local economy and for the future of students in Brătușeni,” said Ambassador Jaromír Plíšek.

In addition to material support, the ProMILK project also included the development of a new educational curriculum adapted to current labour market requirements, as well as a feasibility study for the construction of a teaching farm with a capacity of 30 head of cattle, intended to serve as a practical training base for students.

The project was implemented throughout 2025, with a total budget exceeding five million Moldovan lei, and has had a significant impact on the training of future veterinary specialists.

“Supporting agriculture in the Republic of Moldova is one of the pillars of our strategy, as it is a vital sector, especially for rural areas. The ProMILK project is a natural continuation of our efforts in this direction,” emphasised Rafał Chibowski, Director of People in Need Moldova.

The results of the ProMILK project will contribute to strengthening vocational education, increasing rural resilience, and supporting young specialists and local farmers in the Republic of Moldova.
