Facilitator in the Center for Digital Education

DURATION OF THE CONTRACT:

8 months, starting in August 2024.

CONTEXT:  

People in Need (PIN) has been active in Moldova since 2003, providing development support to the local population in three areas of interest: agriculture and economy, social protection and inclusion, as well as civil society empowerment and involvement. Recently, People in Need Moldova became a partner of UNICEF in the EDUTech Labs project, with the aim of providing quality education to Ukrainian children. These digital hubs connect Ukrainian students to online learning platforms during class hours under the supervision of trained and supervised facilitators. EDUTech Labs also serve as spaces for non-formal education activities, including digital skills and recreational activities for Ukrainian and local children. More than 70 laboratories have been established in Moldovan schools to support social and emotional well-being and promote social cohesion for both Ukrainian and local children. 

FIELD OF ACTIVITY: 

Facilitating the online learning process of a group of children aged between 6-17 years at digital centers within the EDUTech Labs project. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (tasks): 

  • Responsible for operation EDUTech Labs according to the agreed action plan, from approximately 08.00 - 16.00 from Monday to Friday  

  • Supervise and support children's learning according to their different ages, genders and abilities, at agreed times, 

  • Ensure a safe and child-friendly atmosphere within EduTech Labs, 

  • Performs daily visual assessment of children and reports suspected cases of abuse or stress, 

  • Ensures children feel comfortable, safe and respected, 

  • Record children's attendance every day and report weekly to the coordinator, 

  • Ensures all equipment is accounted for and stored securely at the end of the day, 

  • Understand and follow the principles EDUTech Labs and established codes of conduct, child protection policies and other relevant guidance, 

REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES (eligibility): 
Candidates must possess the following mandatory minimum qualifications, which will be evaluated based on the Admitted/Rejected criteria: 

  • Educational background and qualifications, at minimum a bachelor's degree or higher education in pedagogy, or psychology, or psychopedagogy, or social science, or social worker or similar fields; 

  • Previous experience in the field of Education  

  • Previous experience working with children, advantageous scoring if previous experience working with children with special needs 

  • Knowledge of languages, minimum requirement Russian. Romanian and Ukrainian language will be considered a high advantage. 

Other personal skills, which will be evaluated during an interview: 

  • Excellent interaction and communication skills; 

  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations (patience) 

  • Ability to control classes with a large number of children.

FEES AND TERMS OF PAYMENT: 

In order to carry out the mentioned tasks, PIN has provided a budget for the payment of the services provided by each facilitator - 12,400 MDL (all taxes included: income tax, social fund, medical insurance). The payment of the fee will be made monthly, based on the act of receiving and handing over the services (tasks).

EVALUATION: 

Initially, Candidates will be shortlisted based on minimum qualification criteria, mentioned in "Requirements for Candidates". Afterwards, the Candidates on the short list will continue to be invited to the interview for the assessment of personal skills. 

The award of the contract will be made to the Candidates who will be established by the evaluation committee as eligible and compliant with all the requirements present in the "Requirements for Candidates", as well as the acceptance of the proposed fee.
