Education & Work Experience
Qualification:
  • College degree in Economics, Ecology, Engineering, Economy, Business Management, Project Management or other relevant field .
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the NGO field.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office suite application, particularly with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, social media skills represent an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize relevant information.
  • Strong attention to detail for monitoring progress and ensuring compliance.
  • Capability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
  • Experience in multicultural settings and working with vulnerable populations.
  • Skills in managing logistics for resource distribution.
  • languages – English – Basic knowledge; - Romanian/Russian - Fluent in all aspects .

Background
People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-governmental organization that provides relief aid and development assistance while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. It is one of the largest reliefs and development organizations in post-communist Europe and has administered projects in 37 countries over the past 30 years. From 2009 onwards, PIN has added development programmes to its work in Moldova, building a vision and practices that keep people and communities at the centre of our work. Throughout its presence in the country, PIN has been contributing to the development of following sectors: Sustainable Livelihood and Environment, Social Inclusion and Protection, Good Governance.
Position overview: 
The Project Assistant will support energy efficiency improvements in six schools as part of the “WIN-EDU: Winterization and Integration for Education of Refugees and Moldovans" project, enhancing educational environments for refugees and Moldovans. Key responsibilities include conducting field visits to monitor construction compliance, distributing winter aid vouchers, and overseeing project execution. The role also involves supporting local staff in maintaining energy-efficient systems and ensuring winterization efforts are effective. Ultimately, the position contributes to better learning conditions and increased educational access for vulnerable children.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support the overall project management and implementation of Energy Efficiency projects activities, ensuring compliance with PIN’s rules and policies.
  • Collect relevant information for project implementation from communities and administration.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and implementing the project, continuously informing management about progress.
  • Compile midterm and annual progress reports with the Project Manager.
  • Develop appropriate Terms of Reference (ToR) for service providers and support the selection process.
  • Develop contracts related to project activities and other project-related documents.
  • Support communication and PR efforts.
  • Fill in all relevant documentation in ELO and ensure compliance with project-specific files/contracts and technical specifications.
  • Support the MEAL team in implementing the MEAL plan and final project evaluation.
  • Participate in Project Review Meetings organized on a monthly basis.
  • Manage project documentation and work with finance and logistics staff to ensure all project procurements and contracts follow PIN and donor procedures.
  • Perform other essential duties for the quality implementation of activities.
