Published: Jul 30, 2024 Reading time: 2 minutesStarting from 2023, People in Need is running a program to provide Moldovans and Ukrainian refugees with jobs and entrepreneurial activities, in order to improve economic resilience. About 250 people applied to the program, 180 of whom were helped in obtaining a profession. At least 40 people have found a well-paid job and another 30 are to be hired. The companies that employ the participants in the program receive financial support for 3 months for the payment of salaries.
One of the benefits of the project is the fact that economic agents provide not only training services, but also offer these learners the opportunity to get a job and get a decent salary. And we, People in Need, offer them support by paying their salaries for a period of 3 months.Arcadie Zastavnetchi, project manager
22 program participants have already presented their business ideas and received micro-grants worth up to 2000 euros. About 30 other grants are to be awarded.

The Livelihood project is developed by People in Need Moldova, from SOS Ukraine funds, direct donations of the czech people. This was possible thanks to the partnership with the North Regional Development Agency through collaboration with local public authorities, the National Employment Agency, economic incubators, the free economic zone, as well as the permanent dialogue with employers and private intermediaries and other local organizations.
